It is an ancient building that was constructed by the emperor Vespasian in AD 72. It was built on the grounds of Nero’s private Domus Aurea. This monument is located in piazza Del Colosseo. It is closed for visitors every year on 25th December and from 9am to 5pm on 1st of January. It was used for mining of marble and travertine for various buildings like palazzo venezia. It is the most evocative place that has been explored, till date. Is a very incredible scenary, don't miss it.

Interesting blog, it reminds me of Spanish Steps in Rome. The giant stone Spanish Steps starts from Piazza di Spagna (the Spanish Square) up to the Trinità dei Monti church.
ReplyDeleteI tried to write a blog about it, hope you also like it https://stenote.blogspot.com/2021/11/rome-at-spanish-steps.html.
